Stephanie Smailes began her international teaching career in Beijing where she worked for three years. She then moved to the UK in order to take her place on the Teach First Leadership Development Programme and taught in Nottingham for two years. Stephanie has been trained extensively in the new British curriculum and assessment without levels and led Music and Drama at her previous school in the UK. Stephanie moved to BSY in 2016 in search of adventure and an exciting and innovative place to work. She is now the English Coordinator for Primary and teaches Year 2. She is extremely passionate about creating independent learners who take risks and aren't afraid to make mistakes. Stephanie loves the performing arts, music, reading and travel. In her spare time, she is an avid yogi, touch rugby and netball player.
